Funded by the Council and Sport England, The Cath Thom Leisure Centre offers economical, inclusive, and sustainable facilities built to meet the needs of the local community.

Set within Wilson Sports Village, the new facilities at the centre include a 25m swimming pool, fitness suite, multi-purpose studio, sauna and steam room, café and a changing village.

Alongside woodland paths, there is also a running track, outdoor pitches and external changing facilities for outdoor sports users.

Achieving an A-rated energy efficiency rating, the centre supports the Council’s goal to achieve net-zero carbon activities by 2030.

From the outset, you brought together a strong team of experts and partners whose professionalism, collaboration and attention to detail have produced a truly special facility for our Borough. Thank you for your leadership, your problem-solving throughout the more challenging moments, and the positive, can-do culture your team brought to every stage. We are confident that The Cath Thom Leisure Centre will act as a catalyst for increased participation in physical activity across Hyndburn for many years to come.

We are incredibly proud to be delivering our sixth project with Hyndburn Borough Council, and this one feels particularly special. The Cath Thom Leisure Centre will make a real difference to people’s lives, creating opportunities for the community to be active, to connect and to thrive together. This journey hasn’t been without its challenges, but the determination and vision shown by the Council has been inspiring. We are delighted to play our part in bringing this landmark facility to life, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have for future generations.
